Grant
Millennium Challenge Account, Georgia, in cooperation with the Gudavadze-Patarkatsishvili Foundation, has launched the 2018 National Awards for Professional Education (TVET Awards).
The event, which was founded last year, is to be held this year in Georgia for the second time.
The winners, who will be announced on the 9 November, will take part in a special training tour in Germany hosted by PEM Consult, an independent private consulting firm based in Germany.
The competition is organized by the Millennium Challenge Fund project «Vocational Education for Economic Development» , funded by Millennium Challenge Corporation and supported by Georgia’s Ministry of Education and Science.
The National Awards for Professional Education is an open competition, where winners will be identified in the following four categories:
- Vocational education institution of the year
- Business partner of the vocational education provider of the year
- Professional education teacher of the year
- Vocational education student of the year
Candidates for vocational education teacher and professional education student are eligible to be nominated only by vocational education institutions where the candidates are currently employed or are studying. Vocational education providers can present more than one candidate in these categories.
Grant Objectives
The aim of the National Vocational Education Achievement Grant is to increase the image and reputation of vocational education and represent successful individuals and organisations involved in this field.
Grantees
PEM Consult is an independent private consulting firm providing advisory services and technical assistance to public institutions, private sector organisations and individual enterprises in developing countries and economies in transition. PEM Consult is the organiser of a special training tour to Germany for the winners of the TVET Awards.
The Millennium Challenge Account, Georgia (MCA) was created with the mission to implement Georgia’s second project with the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). The MCC is an innovative and independent U.S. foreign aid agency that is helping lead the fight against global poverty. MCC is the founder of the Millennium Challenge Account project «Vocational Education for Economic Development», the organiser of the competition at the National TVET Awards.
